Dimapur, Sep. 21 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front has patted its legislators on their backs in the aftermath of the just concluded second session of the 13th House of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
A statement from the party on Friday expressed appreciation to its legislators for what it stated was “their well versed arguments articulately with facts and figures led by the Opposition Leader TR Zeliang.”
This, according to the party, shows the real spirit of democracy that checks and balance the functioning of the government of the day.
“We also appreciate the NPF MLAs who were all well dressed, suited to the occasion. After all, a proverb says, ‘Clothes make the man,’ that means that people are judged according to the way they are dressed. Through their action, we have seen what kind of leaders they are.
“We appreciate the reconstitution of Joint Legislature Forum (JLF) on Naga political issue under the chairmanship of the Speaker. The Party strongly supports the move and congratulates the Speaker and members and wishes them success in their effort.
“Meanwhile, it is learnt that 50 starred questions were submitted to the Assembly. However, hardly 25 questions were accepted for reply and discussion in the first concluded session of the Assembly. We suggest that more days are kept for more discussion on public importance in future,” the statement read.
