DIMAPUR — In one of its first meetings after the merger of the NDPP and NPF, the 5 Ghaspani- II Assembly Constituency came together under the banner of the Naga People's Front in its annual picnic-cum-meeting on Friday at Ruzaphema.
Advisor of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, was the chief host, the NPF 5 Ghaspani-II stated in a press release.
Addressing the meeting, Zhaleo Rio expressed his happiness over the accommodative nature of the party workers and supporters during the minor reshuffle that followed the merger.
He said sincere efforts are underway to bring everyone on board the NPF party. He stated that the merger was issue-based, aimed at the welfare of the Nagas. He highlighted that the NPF, being the oldest regional political party in Northeast India, is an honourable platform to be part of, as it works for the greater cause of the Nagas.

The advisor also assured that he would extend all necessary support and assistance to the people of his constituency through various governmental agencies and departmental work programmes.
He urged his party workers and supporters to work with dedication and commitment to strengthen the party at all levels.
The meeting witnessed extensive deliberations, with party leaders from division and assembly constituency levels sharing ideas on strengthening and advancing the party.
The leaders expressed appreciation for Zhaleo Rio's pro-developmental approach in the constituency. They pledged to strengthen his leadership with renewed sincerity and commitment.
The meeting also adopted three key resolutions.
The meeting welcomed and supported the merger of the NDPP and the NPF, viewing it as a positive step towards strengthening regional unity, ensuring political stability, and advancing Naga people's aspirations.
It also reaffirmed unwavering support for Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio's leadership and expressed full confidence in Advisor Zhaleo Rio to lead the constituency towards progress and development.
Further, the party appealed to departed leaders and members to return and reaffirm their commitment to strengthen the NPF leadership.
The meeting was chaired by Thepfuselie Makritsu, president of NPF, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C.
