Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): 5 Ghaspani- II assembly constituency of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has supported the decision of its central office to oppose the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). The decision to support its central office on CAB was taken in an emergency meeting held on February 5 at the residence of its women wing president, Medziphema. It was of the opinion that implementation of CAB would adverssely affect the entire Northeast region particularly Nagaland, where custom, tradition, culture and heritage play vital role. On the issue of ‘parallel party set-up,’ the unit women wing president, Neisiehuno Rino, and the AC general secretary (admn), M Alen Singson, have appealed the central office and competent authorities to look into the issue at the earliest to authenticate the recommendation of the review committee, Dimapur division, which has been kept in abeyance till date. While stating that out of 5 ACs under Dimapur divisions, 4 ACs have been authenticated and served approval order, it has questioned the rationale of the central office for keeping the issue in abeyance pertaining to 5 Ghaspani-II AC. In this regard, the house has appealed the party high command and central office leaders to resolve the issue before February. Failing to heed to its request, the unit cautioned that it would be left with no option but resort and stick to the representation submitted to the review committee, Dimapur division, on October 12, 2018.
