Naga People’s Front (NPF) has clinched Senapati Autonomous District Council (ADC) from the Congress party while the latter became the single largest party in Tamenglong ADC.
Counting of ballots for the six Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) — Senapati, Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Chandel, Sadar Hills and Churachandpur began this morning under tight security at the respective district headquarters. When this report came in counting was still underway.
In Senapati district, NPF has won 11 seats, 8 seats by BJP and one seat by Congress. The rest 4 seats went to the Independent candidates.
In Ukhrul district, NPF has won 9 seats and leads in many seats till the filing of this report while BJP has won just one seat. When this report came in, Congress was yet to open its account.
In Tamenglong district, Congress has won 10 seats, NPF-8 seats, BJP-5 seats and one Independent. The result of the remaining one seat is still unclear.
In Churachandpur district, 12 seats have been won by Independents, 4 by Congress and one by BJP. Counting for the remaining seats was still going on.
In Chandel district, Congress has won 4 seats. Results for the remaining seats are yet to be ascertained.
