Dimapur, August 19 (EMN): The NPF group in support of Neiphiu Rio on Saturday decided to remove the prefix “interim” formerly attached to described the former chief minister as the NPF party chief.
According to a press release from the ‘NPF press and information cell’, more than two-third “absolute majority of the NPF led DAN Legislature Party” had selected Rio ‘the interim president of NPF’ on July 3 last.
“Consequent upon the selection, a 15 days Ultimatum (sic) was served to Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu to resign from the post of NPF president by the NPF led DAN absolute majority group. Whereas, the ultimatum was served to him to repent and to save the NPF party from further destructions and mutilations (sic).
“Whereas, the grace period had expired on 13 Aug 2017, yet he deliberately and arrogantly refuses to resign and warms the chair as if he inherited the NPF party. Now, therefore, the prefix of interim shall be deleted from the designation of Neiphiu Rio, the president of the NPF party henceforth.
“Nevertheless, the absolute majority group has constituted and appointed a search committee wherein the names of the party president, central office bearers (COB) and frontal wings shall be proposes (sic) which ultimately shall be approved during the party convention scheduled on 20 Sept at Dimapur. Subsequently, the approved president and COB shall be forwarded to ECI for due recognition which shall be our fundamental basis to claim the cock symbol”, it stated.
