The NPF Central Farmers Wing visited KVK Zunheboto to understand local agricultural practices, challenges, and discuss sustainable farming techniques.

DIMAPUR — A team from the Naga People Front (NPF) Central Farmers Wing visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaland University, in Zunheboto on May 13 as part of their state-wide appreciative enquiry tour.
According to an update, The visiting team was led by Vikheho Swu, President of the Central Farmers Wing, who highlighted the purpose and significance of the tour and the importance of understanding the agricultural practices and challenges faced by farmers across the state.
The team was welcomed by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, Principal Scientist and Head of KVK Zunheboto, who briefed the visitors on the various activities, frontline demonstrations, and technologies tested and promoted by KVK for the benefit of the farming community in the Zunheboto district.

An interactive session was held between the visiting delegation and KVK scientists, during which several important agricultural and allied sector issues were discussed.
The discussions focused on improved paddy varieties, orange rejuvenation, management of fall armyworm, poultry and piggery development, as well as the impact of jhum cultivation on the environment and agricultural sustainability.
The need for establishing breeding farms to ensure easy availability of quality poultry chicks and piglets, along with the supply of quality seeds to farmers, was also highlighted.
The visit concluded with a tour of the KVK demonstration farm, where the delegation observed various ongoing demonstrations and technologies being implemented for the welfare of the farming community.
