Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has appreciated the recent meeting between the Working Committee –Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPG) and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland- Isak Muivah (NSCN-IM) at Kolkata where both groups agreed to form the Council of Naga Relationships and Cooperation, under the initiative of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR),
“Such bold and outright decision is very welcoming as the Naga people’s earnest prayer for unity and reconciliation is finally being answered by our Almighty God,” NPF stated.
A press communiqué from NPF on Wednesday congratulated the FNR for taking the initiative, adding that the achievement will be marked as a red letter day for the Naga people.
It honoured the two groups for keeping the problems of the Naga people first and coming under one term “with a renewed spirit of commitment for reconciliation and unity between them”.
The party appreciated the two groups for understanding the urgency to rise above the present condition and committing to the “values of truth, forgiveness, justice and peace as the discerning power to help choose a shared future over the divisions of the past”.
The NPF expressed hope that with this significant development and decision, “Nagas can be optimistic that our long yearning for peace and unity amongst our brothers will be a reality soon”.
