
Dimapur, Sep. 14 (EMN): Supporters of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) secretary general, Achumbemo Kikon, from Akuk and Mekokla villages in Wokha district held a thanksgiving programme on September 10.
Speaking at the programme in Akuk village, a prominent leader from Akuk village, Jerry Patton, called upon the public to elect a right leader in order to uplift the deplorable living condition of the people, an update from the media cell of NPF 40 Bhandari AC stated.
It stated that leaders from both Akuk and Mekokla villages have advised and encouraged the people to stand strong and united for all round development.
Speaking on the occasion, Achumbemo Kikon, an intending candidate from 40 Bhandhari AC said, “ I have not been successful for three terms but as a true leader I cannot abandon my people and I have been and will always stay strong and stand up for my people of 40 Bhandhari AC.”
He expressed his desire to make Bhandhari AC a developed constituency by utilising the funds judiciously for development in all aspects and assured to work with all his capabilities to fulfill to wishes of his people if he gets elected. He added that he wanted to write a good history by leaving good legacy through his deeds and not by words.
In a separate meeting with the youth from Mekokla, Achumbemo stated that he will contest in the ensuing state assembly elections for the uplift of the youth.
Report further stated that the youth leaders have assured support to his leadership.
