
DIMAPUR — Alleging that there are no doctors in almost every CHC, PHC and district hospitals as per the norms, the public grievances cell of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has sought immediate intervention from the state government and deployed medical staff as per Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&AR) rules.
NPCC public grievances cell has made known to the public that on June 23, 2020, there was a post creation of 186 posts including 15 posts of specialist, 44 medical officers, 11 Ayush medical officers, 3 dental sergeants, 6 research scientists, 78 staff nurses, 6 lab technicians, 10 ECG technician, and 13 OT technicians.
It has also referred to the advertisement of Health and Family Welfare department for 195 post vacancies through order No. HWF(A) COVID-19/ APPT 13/17/2020, which included post creation and existing vacancies with a clear notice that those appointments would be temporary until filled through NPSC.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Besides, it stated that the department came up with a special recruitment drive on November 2, 2022, for 329 posts through the approval of the cabinet-vide No. CAB/2013, dated June 26, 2022, where 175 marks out of 487.5 were to be awarded to those employees who were working on contracts, depriving the other aspirants of free and fair examination and bypassing the rule led down by P&AR rules, which is common for any department under government of Nagaland.

NPCC grievances cell has cited press statements made by some aggrieved student associations like Combined Technical Associations of Nagaland (CTAN), who were against the special recruitment drive as well as aggrieved aspirant doctors from dental and Ayush branches, who have filed a court case against the special recruitment drive.
While referring to the conversation with the doctor petitioners, the NPCC grievances cell stated that they were ever ready to withdraw the court case only if the department go as per the P&AR rule and nullify the special recruitment drive order dated November 2, 2022.
In light of the above-stated circumstances, NPCC public grievances cell has reminded the state government to stop playing with human lives and demanded for immediate deployment of medical staff as per P&AR rules. It has further warned of resorting to its own course of action if the government fails to comply with its demand.
