Supongmeren Jamir nominated as member of the India–Chile Parliamentary Friendship Group.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has congratulated its president and Lok Sabha MP, S Supongmeren Jamir, on his nomination as a member of the India–Chile Parliamentary Friendship Group constituted for the 18th Lok Sabha.
An update from NPCC stated that the nomination was made by the Speaker of Lok Sabha as part of strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and fostering stronger bilateral relations between India and Chile.

It mentioned that the India–Chile Parliamentary Friendship Group aims to enhance cooperation, mutual understanding and dialogue between parliamentarians of the two nations on matters of shared interest including trade, culture, development and global cooperation.
It added that the recognition reflected the trust and confidence placed on Supongmeren Jamir and his continued commitment to representing the voices and aspirations of the people of Nagaland at the national and international levels.
It further stated that his inclusion in the important parliamentary group is a matter of pride for the people of Nagaland and the northeast, further strengthening the region’s representation in international parliamentary engagements.
