DIMAPUR, December 19
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) strongly condemned to what it called the “political vendetta” unleashed by the BJP against Congress President, Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi “out of intolerance” for the main opposition party while tacitly curbing freedom of religion and food. It also condemned the “undemocratic action” of Arunachal Pradesh Governor JP Rajkhowa in attempting to dislodge the duly elected congress government by openly engineering defections.
In a statement, the NPCC said it held a meeting on Saturday at Dimapur DCC office attended by PCC office bearers, senior party leaders together with Dimapur DCC and 5 ACCC officials to deliberate on the issue of “political vendetta and intolerance” of the BJP government. The meeting was also held in all other 10 districts by the respective DCCs in solidarity with the congress party leaders who are being targeted by the BJP with a politically motivated agenda that has no substance, it claimed.
In the meeting at Dimapur chaired by Dimapur DCC president Kughato S Aye, Chairman of NPCC Media Cell, Capt GK Zhimomi briefed the house on the facts about National Herald/Associated Journals Limited (AJL) and Young Indian Limited (YIL). President NPCC, K Therie and Working president NPCC, Ayang Aonok also spoke on the related topic and the political imbroglio in Arunachal Pradesh created by the Governor at the behest of BJP, the NPCC statement added.
