Nagaland Pickleball Association announces state rankings, tournaments, national selections and grassroots initiatives for the 2026-27 season
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA) has outlined a development roadmap for the 2026-27 season, including a state ranking system, official tournaments and selection of players for the national championships.
The roadmap was discussed at the association’s ‘general annual meeting’ held on August 16, where members reviewed the growth of pickleball in Nagaland and called for more structured competitions and wider participation.
The NPA has designated FLEG as its official digital partner for state rankings, tournament registration, scoring and event management.
The association plans to organise two official state-level tournaments in Kohima and Dimapur, tentatively in September-end and October. It also plans to send selected players to the IPA Nationals, with team selection scheduled for October.

Grassroots development will be another priority, with the NPA planning to approach schools and educational institutions to promote talent identification and youth participation.
The association also discussed certification programmes for referees and coaches, along with women’s coaching clinics. A PWR tournament is also proposed for September-end or October, subject to the availability of qualified coaches.
The NPA further resolved to hold monthly meetings to monitor progress and coordinate ongoing initiatives. The association said the measures were aimed at building a more structured, competitive and inclusive pickleball ecosystem in Nagaland.
