Dimapur, Dec. 21: State vigilance commissioner, Mayang Lima, today expounded that God had manifested his divine love and grace through the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas day. He, therefore, urged upon to celebrate Christmas by keeping mind its real significance which otherwise would be just another festivals.
He was speaking at the pre-Christmas celebration of Ao Khel, Notun Basti, Dimapur, on December 21. Lima elucidated that although God created humans in His likeness, all hope was lost due to the continuous disobedience and sin against God. Under such situation, he said the only solution that God brought for humans was Christmas. He added that along with Christmas, God added another dimension: “the limitless divine love and divine grace.”
He lamented that Nagas at present are slowly turning into nominal Christians and be rightly termed as “unbelieving believers.”
“Christians at present are challenged by many new ideas like relativism, humanism and so on that threatens the very Christian way of life. At a time like this, although there are no unbelievers, there are still a few who live according to the teachings of Christ,” Lima stated.
He, therefore, challenged the gathering to be true Christians not only in words but also in deeds.
