highly anticipated sixth edition of Spar Wars, a grassroots mixed martial arts
event for amateur athletes, began on Friday at Ground Zero, The Combat Academy
in Sovima, Chumukedima.
- A press release informed that the first day saw seven
intense bouts featuring fighters from across the Northeast—including Manipur,
Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland—showcasing their skills and fighting
spirit.
- “The event drew an enthusiastic crowd, eager to witness the
region's rising MMA talent in action. Fighters competed fiercely in various
weight classes, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats throughout the
day.
- “The action continues on February 8, with the second day
featuring 10 bouts, including the finals of the straw, fly, and bantamweight
divisions, whose semi-final rounds took place on day one. Fans can expect
electrifying matches as the best fighters from the tournament face off for the
championship titles,” it stated.
