Table toppers NorthEast United FC host Bengaluru FC in an Indian Super League clash in Guwahati.

DIMAPUR — NorthEast United FC will look to maintain their position at the top of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 table when they face unbeaten Bengaluru FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on October 30. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
The Highlanders lead the table with seven points from three matches, following victories over Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Kerala Blasters FC and a goalless draw against Odisha FC.
Bengaluru FC, meanwhile, have six points from two matches after defeating Sporting Club Delhi 3-2 and Chennaiyin FC 2-0.
NorthEast United Head Coach Juan Pedro Benali credited his team's strong start to their mentality. “We go into every game with the mentality that we are no longer the underdogs,” he said.
Acknowledging Bengaluru's quality, Benali said, “Bengaluru are tactically strong and have some very good players. They also have a good coach who knows exactly what he is doing. It will not be easy.”
Goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh, who has kept two clean sheets this season, also expressed confidence ahead of the encounter. “They are a good side, of course, but we are confident in our own qualities,” he said.
Bengaluru hold the advantage in their head-to-head record, winning nine of their 19 meetings, compared to NorthEast United's two victories, while eight ended in draws. Their last meeting in February 2026 ended 1-1.
Benali maintained that the team's focus remains on the immediate challenge. “The most important thing is this game. Only this game matters right now,” he said.
