Northeast Frontier Railway announces special trains to Guwahati, Sairang, Dibrugarh and New Delhi for Christmas and New Year.

DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to operate three pairs of special trains during the Christmas and New Year 2026 period to cater to the festive travel requirement.
According to an update, the special trains include train no. 05609/05610 (Guwahati–Sairang–Guwahati), train no. 05905/05906 (Dibrugarh–Lucknow–Dibrugarh) and train no. 04078/04077 (New Delhi–Kamakhya–New Delhi).
Accordingly, train no. 05609/05610 (Guwahati – Sairang – Guwahati) Christmas Special will run for two trips from each direction. Train no. 05609 (Guwahati – Sairang) Special will depart from Guwahati on December 22 and 24, 2025, at 6:00 hours to reach Sairang at 19:30 hours.

On the return direction, train no. 05610 (Sairang – Guwahati) Special will depart from Sairang on December 23 and 25, 2025, at 6:00 hours to reach Guwahati at 19:50 hours. The train will run with two AC 3-tier, two general second class, eight sleeper class and two general second luggage-cum-brake van coaches.
Train no. 05905/05906 (Dibrugarh – Lucknow – Dibrugarh) Special will run for a single trip from each direction. Train no. 05905 (Dibrugarh – Lucknow) Special started its journey from Dibrugarh on December 19, 2025, at 14:00 hours to reach Lucknow Jn. at 16:30 hours on Sunday.
On the return direction, train no. 05906 (Lucknow – Dibrugarh) Special will depart from Lucknow Jn. on December 23, 2025, at 23:30 hours to reach Dibrugarh at 05:30 hours on December 26, 2025. The train will run with 14 sleeper class coaches and two sitting-cum-luggage rakes.
Train no. 04078/04077 (New Delhi – Kamakhya – New Delhi) Reserved Special Express will run for three trips from each direction. Train no. 04078 (New Delhi – Kamakhya) Special will depart from New Delhi on December 20, 25 and 30, at 19:15 hours to reach Kamakhya at 10:30 hours on the third day. On the return direction, 04077 (Kamakhya – New Delhi) Special will depart from Kamakhya on December 22 and 27, and January 1 at 14:00 hours to reach New Delhi at 8:20 hours on the third day.
The train will run with two AC 2-tier classes, four AC 3-tier classes, four general second classes and eight sleeper classes.
The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website and are also being notified in newspapers and social media platforms of NFR.
