- DIMAPUR — The
69th Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar ceremony was held at the newly renovated Rang
Bhawan Complex, Maligaon, on Monday, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR)
stated.
- In a press release, the NFR informed that Chetan Kumar Shrivastava,
General Manager of NFR, honoured achievers from various departments across the
five divisions and headquarters.
- A total of 69 individual awards and 34 efficiency shields
were awarded in recognition of outstanding performances over the past year.
- Rang Bhawan, established nearly four decades ago in 1986,
has been a cornerstone of NFR’s cultural and official gatherings.
- Shrivastava also dedicated the newly-renovated Rang Bhawan
complex to all NFR employees and workers.
- Upgraded with modern amenities and aesthetics, the complex
will benefit the NFR family for years to come, the release stated.
- The Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar serves as a platform to
recognise and honour the exceptional dedication, perseverance and unwavering
commitment of our railway personnel who have played a crucial role in shaping
the success of NFR.
- In his address, Shrivastava emphasised that the railway has
achieved significant improvements in productivity and efficiency, driven by the
unwavering commitment, hard work and coordinated teamwork of its staff and
officers.
- Guwahati station was honoured with the Best Kept Station
Shield for 2023-24, while the Divisional Railway Hospital in Lumding received
the Best Kept Hospital award. The Best Kept Workshop Shield was awarded to the
New Bongaigaon workshop and the Central Colony of New Jalpaiguri secured the
Best Kept Railway Colony Shield.
- Rangiya division received the shield for the Personnel
Department, while Tinsukia division was awarded for excellence in the
Engineering, Electrical and Safety departments.
- Lumding division secured the shield for the Mechanical,
Signal and Telecom departments. The Accounts Department shield was jointly
shared by Alipurduar and Katihar divisions, while Alipurduar and Rangiya
divisions were recognised for their performance in Commercial Department. The
Operating Department shield was jointly won by Lumding and Alipurduar
divisions.
- Lumding Division of NFR was awarded the Overall Efficiency
Shield for its outstanding all-round performance during the last financial
year.
- “In addition, various departments and workshops that
demonstrated excellence in different fields were awarded Efficiency Shields.
Railway officials engaged in Rajbhasha activities, railway unions/associations
and sports were also honoured for their outstanding performance over the past
year,” the release stated
