Northeast Frontier Railway has extended the Kanpur Central–Guwahati weekly special train services for eight additional trips until September 2026 to ease passenger rush during the travel season.
DIMAPUR — To facilitate the travel requirements and to clear the extra rush of passengers during the ongoing travel season, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to extend the services of Train No. 04127/04128 (Kanpur Central-Guwahati-Kanpur Central Weekly) Special train.
The additional services will run on the existing timings, route and stoppages, ensuring greater travel convenience for passengers travelling between Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and other intermediate stations, the NFR stated in a press release.
Accordingly, Train No. 04127 (Kanpur Central-Guwahati) Weekly Special, will depart from Kanpur Central at 08:00 hrs, every Thursday, from July 16 to September 3, 2026, while Train No. 04128 (Guwahati-Kanpur Central) will depart from Guwahati at 22:00 hrs, every Friday, from July 17 to September 4, 2026. Both the train services have been extended for additional eight trips from their respective destinations.
The operation of these additional trips is expected to provide significant relief to passengers, particularly those travelling to and from Guwahati during the high-demand period.
Passengers have been advised to check the detailed schedule, timings and halts through the NTES or other official Railway enquiry channels before commencing their journey.
“NFR remains committed towards enhancing passenger convenience by introducing additional train services whenever required to cater to the growing travel demand,” it stated.
