
Students of Norman Putsure College during the opening
ceremony of the college’s 3rd annual sports week.
- DIMAPUR — Norman
Putsure College, Chümoukedima, conducted its 3rd annual sports week from Feb.11
to the 14th with the opening ceremony held at the college campus.
- Addressing the inaugural session, the college principal, Dr.
K Timothy Hau encouraged the students to be enthusiastic in the field of sports
and to participate with sincerity and team spirit, an update stated.
- He highlighted the importance given to sports in the
present-day and further stressed on “creating a space of inclusivity” - a space
that will provide an equal platform to the diverse student community of the
college.
- Four houses - Aqua, Ignis, Terra and Ventus - competed in
games including badminton, football, javelin throw, obstacles race, basketball,
tug of war, bamboo stilt race, volleyball, bamboo pole climbing, arm wrestling,
kho-kho, chess, and many more.
- The NAPTC ground was also utilised on Feb. 12 and the 13th
to accommodate the outdoor games and to provide exposure to the students. On
Friday, the event also witnessed “exciting edible items from stalls with a
touch of love commemorating Valentine’s Day,” it stated.
- Ventus House emerged as the overall champion and took home
the trophy.
