Noklak DC has announced the Special Intensive Revision 2026 of the electoral roll, with house-to-house verification by BLOs from August 16 to September 14.
DIMAPUR — In pursuance of the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the deputy commissioner and district election officer (DEO), Noklak, has issued a circular regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the electoral roll with reference to October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
According to a DIPR report, booth level officers (BLOs) have been directed to conduct house-to-house visits under their respective polling stations to distribute enumeration forms containing pre-printed details of existing electors. The exercise will be carried out from August 16 to September 14, 2026.
Electors have been advised to keep recent passport-size photographs ready to facilitate verification of the enumeration forms by the BLOs.
The electoral registration officer (ERO) will prepare and publish the draft electoral roll on September 20, 2026, comprising the names of existing electors who submit their duly filled enumeration forms within the stipulated period.
The period for filing claims and objections will be from September 20 to October 20, 2026.
The notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will be conducted from September 20 to November 18, 2026.

During this period, electors whose records are not linked or whose details show discrepancies with the electoral roll prepared during the last intensive revision in 2005 may be required to appear before the ERO or assistant electoral registration officer (AERO) with the documents prescribed by the Election Commission of India.
The deputy commissioner called upon all administrative officers, ward authorities, village councils and booth level agents (BLAs) to extend full cooperation to the BLOs during the verification exercise.
They have also been asked to give wide publicity to the SIR programme and advise residents to remain available during the house-to-house verification.
The Special Intensive Revision aims to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral roll and that no ineligible person is included.
The deputy commissioner urged all concerned to extend every possible assistance to the booth level officers for the successful conduct of the house-to-house verification under SIR 2026.
