DIMAPUR: The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) will be taking part in the global celebration of Olympic Day Run on June 24 by organising an event at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, on the theme “Let’s Move.”
“This year the event is designed to inspire children and youth aged 4 to 16years, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle, promote sportsmanship and celebrate the Olympic spirit,” NOA stated in a press release.
The event will be conducted in various race categories catering to different age groups, ensuring an inclusive and engaging experience for all participants.
The association urged parents, guardians, schools and sports enthusiasts to actively support and encourage their children to participate in the event.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]“By joining the Olympic Day Run, young participants will not only engage in physical fitness but also develop lasting friendship and a sense of unity through sports,” it stated.
The association announced that a total cash prize of INR 50,400 will be awarded to the winners, along with merit certificate from the Nagaland Olympic Association. Each participant will also receive certificate from the International Olympic Committee.
Registration for the Olympic Day Run is open to all young participants aged 4 to 16 years. There is no entry fee. The last date for registration is June 18.
To register, participants may walk-in at NOA office, Kohima, before the registration deadline or apply online at OLYMPIC DAY RUN 2023.
