Dimapur, April 24 (EMN): People, especially the young, will now have to go take their “selfies” from somewhere else for their Facebook photos perhaps, Astroturf or no Astroturf. The government has issued a notice banning people from entering the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima town unless during sporting events.
The government’s publicity agency, the Information and Public Relations (IPR) department, issued updates about the notice on Wednesday.
The director of the Youth Resources & Sports department, Akumla Chuba, is stated to have issued a notice informing about a ‘recent requirement’ for maintenance of the Astroturf and Synthetic Tracks in the stadium,
The department has issued directives that entry to the stadium will now be restricted except during tournaments and other department-approved events.
‘No group of people either visiting stadium or for picnics in the premises especially during Saturdays and Sundays will be entertained. Any body found loitering in the premises without valid reason will be fined INR.500 and persecuted as per the law,’ the IPR stated.
Any other matter relating to the use of the stadium should be taken to the administrator of the stadium at the contact number 7005281845, and the directorate, the updates stated.
