Dimapur, Dec. 2 : The Congress in Nagaland has told the state government that the party would not like to hear of any more corruption charges – for this year.
“Government should be free from allegation of corruptions. We wouldn't like to hear of any more corruption charges this year,” read a press release from the president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), K Therie issued on Friday.
The press statement was titled as ‘greetings to Hornbill Festival’. The NPCC, it stated, wishes all to enjoy the festival. “Hornbill Festival is an extension of state Inauguration day. The festival provides a bird's eye view of all the tribes of Nagaland.”
The younger generation of Nagas, according to Therie, were unfortunate to have missed what he said was the village civilization of the Naga people. “I want to caution not to be over enthused by the modern electronic civilization for you may lose your identity before the world.”
With regard to Hornbill management, he said, it was “now matured to be privatised. Government may aid.”
