Dimapur, Oct. 29 (EMN): The Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj (NBS) has informed all the devotees of Chhath Puja Mahaparv that due to Covid-19 pandemic situation across the country, it will not be able to celebrate the festival at the bank of River Dhansiri in Dimapur.
The samaj appealed to the devotees to celebrate the puja at their respective homes and premises by maintaining standard operating procedures issued by the government.
This year, the Chhata festival will be celebrated from November 18 to the 21st. On the last two days, the devotees celebrate at the bank of River Dhansiri. However, due to the pandemic, it will not be possible to celebrate the festival like in the past, the NBS informed.
Meanwhile, the NBS appealed to all not to use firecrackers on the occasion as well as during Deepawali, the festival of lights.
It also urged all to pray for the speedy recovery of those people who are suffering from Covid-19.
The NBS also wished the people of Nagaland a happy Deepawali and Chhath Puja.
