Dimapur, April 25 (EMN): No suspected Covid-19 samples were sent for testing from Nagaland on Saturday, according to a daily official update.
Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha informed that the tally stood at 613, out of which 607 have tested negative. The remaining six await confirmation.
“For continuity of essential services to the general patients, all district health authorities have been directed by the department of Health to ensure that at least one Covid-19 and one non Covid-19 hospital is available in each district.
“All peripheral health facilities such as community health centres, primary health centres, urban primary health centres and sub centres are to continue delivery of essential services to general patients as well,” he informed.
According to Sinha, since the lockdown was imposed in the state, young entrepreneurs have been extending useful service through home delivery and e-commerce companies. In order to promote this sector, Nagaland government has announced financial assistance of INR 25,000 to registered home delivery companies transporting essential commodities.
“The scheme is being implemented through the district administration, and anyone interested may approach the respective deputy commissioner who would get the details, and after due verifications forward to the government for consideration,” he said.
The home commissioner informed that INR 1.63 crore has been disbursed through direct bank transfer to the accounts of 4,159 persons from Nagaland stranded in other states due to the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown.
He informed that a total of 9,800 applicants have been verified and financial aid disbursed through direct bank transfer to the accounts of 4,159 applicants as of April 24.
