Dimapur, April 27 (EMN): No night curfew violations have been reported in Dimapur and Tuensang since restrictions were imposed by the respective district task forces on April in an attempt to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The officer in-charge of Tuensang police station, Chullen Chang, told Eastern Mirror that there was no report of night curfew violation till date and that people were following the order.

When asked about violation in connection with not wearing of masks, Chang informed that many were found not following the norms in the first week after the order was issued but that had reduced drastically in the last couple of weeks as most people were seen wearing mask.

He said that more than 100 challans have been issued in Tuensang town for not wearing mask.

A police personnel at East station Dimapur also informed this newspaper that ‘no serious violation of night curfew’ were reported from the city till date, adding that they force shop owners to shut the shops if they were seen open after the deadline and disburse if people were found in groups.

The source added that around 20 to 30 challans were issue per day in the city for not wearing mask.
