Dimapur, April 24 (EMN): No violations of night curfew were reported till Saturday evening in Dimapur, according to city police.
Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan had issued the order imposing night curfew on all days between 8 pm and 5 am with effect from April 23 to curb the alarming surge in Covid-19 cases in the commercial hub.
Sub-Inspector of East police station, MC Rutsa informed Eastern Mirror that the public were co-operating and even the movement of vehicles was ‘very limited’.
He informed that police personnel were stationed at Nagarjan junction, Deluxe point, Purana Bazaar and Nyamo Lotha road to monitor the movement of people and vehicles, and the situation was normal with public following the order.
He added that only vehicles with valid reasons were allowed to pass.
