There is not a single conflict between Naga People’s Front (NPF) and United Naga Council (UNC), said Robert Maram, who is the general secretary of NPF Manipur State Unit.The clarification was made by him while attending the campaign kicking off ceremony of NPF candidate SP Chuiruingam Wui of 23-Kasom Khullen of Ukhrul ADC. The ceremony was held at Kasom Khullen at Ukhrul district.
General Secretary Robert Manam reminded that NPF was formed in the year 1963, and the party has recently entered Manipur and has been an active role in developing education, health, roads, communication, etc in hill areas of Manipur in the last few years. He also added that the party has become a good and inclusive platform for all the tribals of North East region.
For the particular circle i,e 23-Kasom Khullen, four intending candidates applied for NPF ticket but to please all of them was impossible. So, he appealed all to work for the success for NPF irrespective of getting ticket or not. Robert endorsed the candidate Chuiruingam as someone who has struggled hard with the many inconveniences being faced as a villager of Kasom Khullen, and appealed all to cast their votes to him as he will perform knowing the impulse of the people of that area.
He also announced that 4 NPF candidates have already won their elections as they are ‘uncontested’ and added that altogether, 11 NPF candidates can be taken as winners as the candidates from other parties for the rest of these candidates have supported their respective NPF rivals. Robert stated that NPF will support the ongoing peace talk and said that NPF regards the common people as its ‘high command’.
NPF candidate SP Chuiruingam appealed the public to elect him in the coming ADC polls as he knows all the hardships faced by the people of that area, and assured that he will work in discussion with his people.
The campaign kicking off ceremony was also attended by NPF Manipur State Convenor Jojo Robertson; working president of Women Wing SP Ngamreiphy; Youth president Worthing Horam and other party leaders.
