DIMAPUR — The Ang
Mai faction of the NSCN (GPRN) has strongly opposed to the proposal for
construction of border fencing along the ‘so-called’ Indo-Myanmar border and
warned that such criminal act would not be tolerated saying that it is against
the law of the land and international laws.
An update from the group stated that it had unanimously
resolved to enforce all means under its disposal to completely restrict and
stop any ‘illegal border fencing’ in the so-called Indo-Myanmar border of 1972
in the entire Naga inhabited areas.
The statement was issued following ‘some illegal border
survey team’ from occupational India was spotted roaming around Longwa village
on December 18, a village divided right in the middle between India and Myanmar
by the 1972 border.
It cautioned that border survey agencies approaching the
illegal 1972 Indo-Myanmar boundary would be the prime target just as the
contractors of any grade or race/ affinity from India, Myanmar or foreign
agencies.
“The anti-human and anti-laws of the land of 1972 that was
secretly maneuvered by Indian and Myanmarese agencies in the dark will not have
the second coming. Nagas were divided into India and Myanmar without our
consent and at this juncture, the NSCN (GPRN) will not allow even the shadow of
such evil to take shape,” it stated.
NSCN stated that there would be no second reminder to the
illegal so-called Indo-Myanmar boundary adding that threat to Naga unity would
be responded with severe military actions.
It further stated NSCN would not allow any element to
disrupt the Naga national movement under the pretext of the ongoing ceasefire
and its parties.
