DIMAPUR — The
NNC/FGN stated that, as “the mandated government,” it will uphold the
plebiscite of May 16, 1951, which substantiates the Naga Independence
declaration of August 14, 1947.
In a press statement issued by the NNC, it reiterated that
the Nagas are one, with one goal, one people, and one nation.
‘Our commitment lies in upholding our historical and
political rights that our great leader, AZ Phizo, paved and any deviation from
this undermines the painful sufferings and sacrifices of our forefathers and
the principles and objectives of what we have been standing for all throughout
the years,’ it read.
Stating that the Naga nation has not accepted the Indian
Union and will never be part of India, it added that the NNC/FGN will
steadfastly support and work under the leadership of NNC president Thupuswuyi
Keyho and Gen. (Retd.) TM Rhakho Kedahge FGN and will never deviate from the
dreams and aspirations of the people, for which thousands have paid the
ultimate price.
