Dimapur, Feb 10: Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) appealed to all its units to stand firm in their principle towards the cause of the Naga women and rights to withstand against any pressure.
NMA issued this statement in the backdrop of some tribal hohos directing their respective units to withdraw support from the Association. NMA press release today affirmed to continue its functioning in promoting the rights of Naga women. It reiterated that no outside body can pressurise to dissolve the Association.
It said NMA, as an organisation, stands firm for the welfare of the Naga women and also for the cause of the Nagas in general. While noticing that some tribal hohos have been directing the units of the NMA to withdraw from the Association, NMA appealed to all its units to stand firm in their principle towards the cause of the Naga women and their rights and to withstand against any pressure.
NMA also cautioned against those organisations blaming NMA for the unfortunate incidents arising in the past week which amounted to threats and intimidation to NMA leaders. NMA categorically stated that those organisations would be held solely responsible if any untoward incident or violence befalls any member of the association.
