Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): The Nagaland Student’s Union Chandigarh (NLSUC) held its first annual gathering and fresher’s social on Oct. 18 at YWCA Hall, Sector 11B on the theme ‘igniting the path towards unity’.
Principal of St. Stephen School, Chandigarh, Louis Lopez, was the chief guest of the day and took the honour of releasing the Constitution of the NLSUC.
The formal session was followed by an extravaganza ‘nite.’
A showcase of Naga culture including folk song and others were performed. The session also witnessed the crowning of the first Mr and Miss Fresher’s NLSUC 2018. Stephen Newmai and Avikali Shikhu were crowned Mr. and Miss fresher respectively.
Around 150 members including students, members, invitees, well wishers and other dignitaries attended the function.
It may be mentioned that the NLSUC was formed on August 22 consisting of members in an around Chandigarh to meet the needs, requirement and challenges faced by Nagas of Nagaland as an outsider in the city.
It aimed to bring unity among the members and educational empowerment of the Nagaland Student’s fraternity in Chandigarh.
