DIMAPUR — Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative
Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, and Deputy Speaker, S Toiho Yeptho, along with
the Secretary-in-Charge and accompanying officers, are attending the 85th All
India Presiding Officers’ Conference (AIPOC) from January 20 to 21 in Patna,
Bihar.
According to an update, the first day of the plenary session
was attended by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, and the welcome address
was delivered by Nand Kishore Yadav, Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
The two-day event features a host of presiding officers from
legislative bodies across the country, participating in discussions focused on
the theme, “75th anniversary of the Constitution: contribution of parliament
and state legislative bodies in strengthening constitutional values”.
The speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, on the
occasion, expressed his gratitude to the speaker of the Bihar Legislative
Assembly for hosting the event and fostering dialogue among the country's
presiding officers.
