Dimapur, November 15: Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Chotisuh Sazo today commissioned the water foundation at Assembly Secretariat.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker the fountain has been installed in the interest of the people in general and legislators of both the past and present, officers and staff of the Assembly Secretariat in particular. He was optimistic that the newly launched fountain would enliven mood of the office goers including the visitors.
Reiterating on the declaration of Assembly Secretariat as green and plastic free zone, he urged the public and the residents not to litter the complex instead asked them to strive for maintaining clean and congenial environment. He also appealed to refrain from gatherings or partying at night around the vicinity in order to avoid unwanted situation.
Executive Engineer, Er. Aroba, who gave a brief technical background about the project, acknowledged the Speaker for bringing this innovative idea into a reality. It is the brainchild of the Speaker who took keen interest to install this extra facility in the complex, he said.
Commissioner & Secretary of NLA, N Benjamin Newman, who chaired the programme, expressed gratitude to the Speaker for installing the water fountain in the Assembly Secretariat. He asked the officers and the staff of the department to create conducive environment and preserve the aesthetic values installed within the premises.
He also added that renovation and painting is under process in the Assembly Complex besides beautification. He further informed that a ramp would be installed for senior citizens and differently abled-persons besides a library hall and recreation facilities for members.
State chaplain, Rev. Kuzierang Thou offered the dedicatory prayer. Officers and staff of the Assembly Secretariat attended the programme.
