Kohima, March 24 (EMN): A day after the members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) raised grave concern over the construction of fence along the international boundary between India and Myanmar in Pangsha area by the latter's government, the State Assembly on Friday introduced a Resolution in this connection.
"This House would request the Government of India to impress upon the Government of Myanmar to permanently drop the project of construction of fencing on the Indo-Myanmar border in the State of Nagaland with a view to continuing the cordial and fraternal relations amongst the Nagas living on both sides of the border," stated P Longon, medical minister who introduced the Resolution on the floor of the House.
Speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier announced that any amendments to the said Resolution could be forwarded till March 25, while consideration and adoption of the Resolution will be made on March 28.
