Dimapur, Nov. 12 (EMN):The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) will be organising an event called the western Sumi inter-area cultural competition, at Niuland on November 24.
N Jacob Zhimomi, minister for PHED will be attending the inaugural function of the competition as special guest while Khekaho Aye, senior treasury officer, will be the guest of honour for the valedictory function.
Informing about the event, the WSYF said there was a need to promote and keep alive the rich cultural heritage of the Sumi people. Organising such an event regularly will have more impetus in preservation of the cultural practices of forefathers, the organisation stated in objective, updates informed on Monday.
The WSYF has urged frontal organisations of the area to cooperate with the youth front for the success of the cultural event.
