- DIMAPUR — The District Level Committee (DLC)
meeting for the implementation of Dharti Aaba-Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan
(DA-JGUA) Scheme was held on June 9 at the office of Deputy Commissioner,
Niuland.

- According to a DIPR report, the DA-JGUA aims to improve the
lives of tribal communities by addressing critical gaps in social
infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood. It is a nationwide
initiative focused on the holistic development of tribal areas, aiming to
ensure sustainable development through various interventions.
- The main objective of the campaign is to create awareness to
the people about the government schemes and programmes while ensuring access to
their entitlement benefits such as Aadhaar cards, ration cards, Ayushman Bharat
cards and various other welfare schemes.
- The campaign will also include awareness and empowerment,
holistic development, community participation, village level camps and
convergence of departments.

- Vitoka Yepthomi, extra assistant commissioner and nodal
officer for DA-JGUA in Niuland district, will oversee the campaign.
- Orientation on PMAY
(Urban)
- Meanwhile, a one-day orientation programme on the
implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 was conducted at
Nuiland Town Council Hall on June 6.
- The programme aimed to train and sensitise key stakeholders,
including Urban Local Body (ULB) officials, community representatives, and
implementing partners, on PMAY (Urban) 2.0 components, focusing on Beneficiary
Led Construction (BLC), an update stated.
- S Athsangla, ADC and Executive Officer of Niuland Town
Council, delivered the welcome speech, while Kevilenou Solo, State Nodal
Officer and Deputy Director, Municipal Affairs department, gave a brief
introduction on PMAY Urban 2.0.
- Resource persons from the PMAY Urban, State Level Technical
Cell, conducted detailed presentations and interactive sessions covering scheme
guidelines, beneficiary selection, fund flow mechanism, geo-tagging of houses,
monitoring protocols, and the roles and responsibilities of ULBs and other
stakeholders.
- Around 40 participants attended the programme, which
concluded with a renewed pledge to speed up implementation and ensure
transparency and accountability in providing housing benefits to eligible urban
families.
