Niuland DC directs public on Showuba–Ghotovi road project, restricting new constructions within Right of Way.

DIMAPUR — The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Niuland, has directed all villages, landowners and the public settled along the stretch of the proposed two-lane road from Showuba to Ghotovi village (Showuba connecting Guzunyu-Pughoboto-Noklak-Pangsha) to obtain construction permits or permission from the concerned area administrative officers for any new construction of structures, both temporary and permanent, on both sides of the road.
The order, issued in continuation of earlier office orders dated March 31, 2023, March 8, 2024, and January 22, 2025, further reiterated that no compensation shall be paid for any new structures built within the Right of Way (RoW).

The RoW dimension has been set at 18 metres in built-up or inhabited areas and 24 metres along uninhabited areas from the centre of the existing road on both sides, with effect from May 31, 2023, as per Order No. DCN/LR-20/WHNH/303.
