Niuland, Chümoukedima register wins in Senior Men's Inter District Tournament

DIMAPUR — Niuland and Chümoukedima secured convincing victories in two league matches of the Senior Men’s Inter District Tournament 2026 on Tuesday.

The matches were played at the Sovima Cricket Ground and the Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Chümoukedima.

In the first match, batting first, Niuland posted 201 all out in 48.3 overs, with Afzal (44 off 33) and Shamwang Wangnao (31 off 51) providing key contributions to build a competitive total.

According to an update, Kohima’s bowling effort was led by Thupuluzo Lohe, who picked up 4/45 in 10 overs, while Kelhousilie Kodh (2/34) and Solomon Awungshi (2/35) chipped in with support.

In reply, Kohima were bowled out for 117 in 32.4 overs, failing to build momentum in the chase. Solomon Awungshi top-scored with 45 off 55 balls but lacked support from the rest of the lineup.

Niuland’s bowlers dominated proceedings, with Hokaito Zhimomi leading the attack with 3/48, supported by Saurav Kumar (2/16) and Anil Gupta (2/21).

Niuland won the match by 84 runs, and Hokaito Zhimomi was named Player of the Match.

In the second match, Dimapur posted a total of 254/8 in 50 overs, powered by 126 off 116 balls from Hem. Sanjay (37 off 54) provided valuable support, helping build a competitive score.

For Chümoukedima, Imliwati (3/38) and Mughavi Sumi (2/34) were effective with the ball in restricting the scoring.

Chümoukedima chased down the target comfortably, finishing at 257/3 in 47.2 overs. Aloto Sumi starred with a match-winning 118 off 136 balls, while Sede (92 off 106) played a crucial supporting role in a partnership.

Dimapur’s bowlers managed only limited breakthroughs, with Hem, Hopongkyu Sangtam, and Samir Ali picking up one wicket each.
