Nitsüyan FC clinch 15th Lotha Football Championship title with dominant 5–0 win over Nyiro Range FC in Wokha.

WOKHA — Nitsüyan FC were crowned champions of the 15th Lotha Football Championship 2026 after a resounding 5–0 victory over Nyiro Range FC in the final played at Wokha town public ground on Saturday.
From the opening whistle, Nitsüyan FC stamped their authority on the contest with sharp passing and relentless attacking play. Ayenmongba stole the show in the first half, netting a hat-trick in the 12th, 17th and 26th minutes to put his side firmly in control.
Nitsüyan continued their dominance in the second half. Mhabemo Kikon added the fourth goal in the 77th minute before Yiben Ezung sealed the emphatic win with a strike in the 81st minute.

Nyiro Range FC, despite their efforts, failed to break through Nitsüyan’s disciplined defence and ended the match scoreless.
The closing ceremony was attended by MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe as special guest, while Neibou Sekhose, AIFF executive committee member and president of Nagaland Football Association (NFA), attended as special invitee.
Addressing the gathering, Humtsoe said that the 4.2-acre public ground has come under government guardianship and will continue to be utilised for public programmes and national functions. He also informed that 7.5 acres of land have been acquired at Longsa village for construction of an astro-turf football ground and an indoor stadium.
NFA president Sekhose congratulated the Wokha District Football Association (WDFA) for consistently organising the championship and nurturing talent. Recalling his playing days in the 1980s, he noted the transformation of Nagaland’s football landscape and credited Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for supporting sports development.
