Nisshi FC win the Peren District Congress Committee futsal tournament held at Jalukie town.

DIMAPUR — Nisshi FC emerged as champions of the futsal tournament organised by the Peren District Congress Committee (PDCC) at The Ball Park in Jalukie town, Peren, held on October 23 and 24.
Organised on the theme "Empowering Youth Through Sports", Nisshi FC won the championship along with a cash prize of INR 30,000, while Apex FC finished as runners-up, receiving INR 15,000. Semi-finalists Lamhai Dungki FC and Kenrich FC were awarded INR 2,000 each.
According to an update, the inaugural programme on October 23 was attended by former PCC member and former independent candidate from 6-Tening Assembly Constituency, Dr. Tumda Newme, as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Newme stated that Peren district is blessed with immense talent, but talent without opportunity goes to waste. He remarked that youth do not lack skills but lack a platform, adding that the tournament was not merely about a ball and a goalpost but about staying away from drugs and focusing on sports and education.
The semi-finals on October 24 were attended by Advisor to PDCC Chusi Hieme and Vice President of PDCC Kiepeube Zehuny as chief patrons.
President of Dimapur District Congress Committee Kutoho Chishi attended the closing ceremony on October 24 as the guest of honour, alongside officials of the Dimapur District Congress Committee, Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress president, the Minority chairman of Nagaland, and other Pradesh Congress Committee leaders.
In his address, Chishi stated that for more than 23 years, the voice of the Congress was silent in many corners, necessitating introspection. He questioned what the present government had delivered to Peren during that period, stating that local youth are natural athletes and champions who require recognition and government support.
