Niropen Yankho Eloe Ekhüng celebrated its silver jubilee in Wokha, with speakers highlighting truth, integrity, women's empowerment and financial literacy.
WOKHA — Niropen Yankho Eloe Ekhüng (NYEE), the women’s organisation of Niropen Colony, celebrated its silver jubilee on Thursday at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Wokha, marking 25 years of service on the theme, “Lead to the truth.”
Ward-15 Wokha Town Councillor Hapenthung Ezung attended the programme as the special guest, while Lotha Eloe Hoho president Thungbeni Ngullie delivered the keynote address on the jubilee theme.
Congratulating the organisation on completing 25 years, Ezung said truth and integrity must remain the foundation of leadership and community service.
He urged members to continue serving with sincerity, humility and compassion, while inspiring the younger generation through their actions. He also encouraged women to remain united, support one another, and contribute to the welfare and development of the community.
Speaking on the theme, the Lotha Eloe Hoho president said organising such events requires dedication and collective effort.
Ngullie observed that many people hesitate to speak the truth because it is often bitter, but stressed that honesty earns respect, trust and credibility.
Truth, she said, strengthens relationships, builds confidence, and forms the foundation of strong families and communities.

She also spoke against social evils and urged people to remain truthful in both words and actions.
Emphasising the importance of financial literacy, particularly for women, she encouraged them to go beyond household management by understanding financial planning, savings, investments and informed decision-making.
Financially empowered women, Ngullie said, are better equipped to strengthen families, contribute to their communities and play a leading role in building a better society.
Earlier, a silent prayer was observed in memory of departed members. Zuchano C Ezung delivered the welcome address, while Renchumi E Ezung presented a brief history of the organisation.
Greetings were conveyed by N Samuel Ezung on behalf of the Niropen Colony Council, and Stephen Nyanthung Ezung, catechist of St. Peter's Campus Church, offered a prayer of blessing.
During the programme, Hapenthung Ezung also released the NYEE silver jubilee souvenir. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Z Teresa Ezung.
