
KOHIMA — Prominent Naga wrestler, Venuzo Dawhuo, on Friday ventured into the fitness industry by launching his new ‘Nimok Power Gym’ at Ataraxia Building in Upper Agri Colony in Kohima.
The director of Tourism department and guest of honour, Veyielo Doulo, inaugurated the gym and expounded the benefits of keeping oneself healthy.
Doulo observed that gym can help a person in different ways by shaping his physical structure, helps against obesity and control blood pressures and other diseases.
He was of the opinion that a healthy person is also bound to be wealthy.
The director also congratulated the Thenyizumi people for producing and nurturing champions in the arena of sports in the form of former wrestling champion and coach Chisazo Dawhuo and Venuzo Dawhuo, who have brought laurel to the Naga community and the Chakhesang in particular at the national and international levels.
He differentiated yoga and gym stating that yoga is to do with mental health and gym is to do with physical health which requires discipline. He further encouraged the youth to take up sports as a profession.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Zazhota Dawhuo, while a song was presented by Vetholu Rhakho and an invocation prayer was said by Chisazo Dawhuo, deacon of CBCK.
The dedicatory prayer with administered by Rev Fr Vemedo Kezo, parish priest of Cathedral, Kohima, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Samuel Kapuh.
