Diphu, June 10 (EMN): To express solidarity with the victim families of Nilutpal Das and Abhijeet Nath, who were lynched by mob on June 8 at Panjuri Kachari Goan, various social organisations took out a candle procession on June 10.
Individuals and organisations such as youth, women, and students came out to take procession which began from Diphu Club to Semson Sing Engti Memorial Park.
The Diphu Regional Students Union of All Assam Students Union; Karbi Students Association-Simeon Rongphar; Assam Jatiyabha Yuva Chatra Parishad; Dimasa Students Association, All Gorkha Students Association, Karbi Anglong; Karbi Women Justice Forum; Karbi Lammet Amei among others participated in the procession.
A silent prayer for the departed souls was made.
Also, at Karbi Anglong the candlelight procession took place at the District Congress Committee office. Likewise, the All Assam Students Union held a candlelight programme at Hanjanglangso.
The Karbi Anglong Morning Star Football Academy of Diphu also observed a minute silent for the departed souls at the Diphu Governemt College’s playground.
