Dimapur, Oct. 26 (EMN): As part of commitment to customer service, Nikon offered a one-day free service camp for owners of Nikon DSLR on Thursday Oct.26 at the Nikon Experience Zone (Redefine), a unit of Synergy Systems) at Dimapur.
The free service included image sensor cleaning, lens-cleaning for free, firmware up grade and product inspection. The free service camp took in more than 100 cameras for servicing, according to Soumyajit Maitra, senior executive for technical support of Nikon Kolkata.
Through the service, Nikon is making an effort to serve its loyal customers in ‘goodwill’ and this is the first time the brand is organising such camp in the state, Maitra said. He added that Nikon will make an effort to continue providing such services to its customers. The support technician acknowledged that Dimapur, unlike other cities, do not have a service centre. Nikon customers have to go to Guwahati for servicing, Maitra said. With the increase in the number of amateur photographers and Nikon users, he said, Dimapur should at least have a collection centre for Nikon customers which will ease their inconveniences and assist photographers.
“Day by day amateur photographers are getting into photography which is indeed a good sign and photography has become much easier with technology. However with no service centre for its users, it could be a setback for photography enthusiasts and customers,” said Maitra, who himself has 15 years of experience as a photographer.
Servicing engineer, Nikon Guwahati Krishanu Dey, assisted in the camp.
