- DIMAPUR — The
Niki-led NSCN/GPRN has issued a statement to clarify the sequence of events
regarding an abduction case in which the police arrested four individuals.
- It said that on receiving information about the movement of
a contraband consignment of Sunflower being transported in the truck bearing
Regd. No. AS01PC-6016, the NSCN members intercepted and recovered the Sunflower
consignment from the truck at Pherima village.

- It claimed that while inquiring and investigating the
Kingpin, the police arrested four of its members and then demanded that the
seized consignment of Sunflower be handed over to them in exchange for the
release of its members. However, upon receiving the consignment of Sunflower,
the police wrongfully registered the kidnapping case against the members.
- Stating that the habitual high-handedness of the Nagaland
Police, unnervingly believing that they are above all rules and thereby acting
as the judge, jury, and executioner, has become a routine exercise, it also
questions whether the contraband Sunflower has been legalised by the
"Government of Nagaland," as the returned contraband Sunflower has
not been mentioned in "their trial by media."
