DIMAPUR — The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Kohima, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, held its inaugural job fair, ‘Yuva Rojgar Manch-Sashakt Yuva, Sashakt Rashtra (Youth Employment Forum—Strong Youth, Strong Nation)’, on Wednesday at its Dimapur campus.
According to a DIPR report, at the inaugural event, 25 employers offered numerous job openings, primarily in Nagaland, and interviews were held for about 350 NIELIT students, with 184 male candidates and the remainder female candidates.
In his address, NIELIT Kohima director L Lanuwabang emphasised that the job fair was a strategic initiative aimed at bridging the gap between skilled individuals and opportunities aligned with their expertise.
He stated that the goal is to create a virtuous cycle in which skilled individuals find employment opportunities, employers find qualified candidates, and the economy benefits from a more productive workforce.
NIELIT intends to hold more job fairs in the coming years.
