Dimapur, March 11 (EMN): Advisor DUDA, LM&CP and Chairman NIDC, Thongwang Konyak visited the Corporate Head Office of the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) at Dimapur where the officers and staff accorded a warm welcome to the 32nd chairman of the Corporation.
While addressing the NIDC employees, Thongwang expressed happiness to take over the chairmanship of NIDC Ltd., being an apex financial institution in the State, and assured to find new avenues for uplift of the Corporation.He said that his tenure as Chairman of the Corporation would be short in view of the next general election of the State scheduled early in 2018. However despite the short tenure, he said it would be a learning experience chairing a corporate entity. He also sought the support of all the officers and staff of the Corporation in all the endeavors.
Thongwang Konyak also invited all employees to feel free to approach him in case of any difficulties.
Bendangoshi Longkumer, Managing Director, in his welcome address, stated that it was very rare for the Corporation to have a Chairman in the status of a Cabinet Minister and felt that with his influence and experience a new era would usher in for NIDC and requested the Chairman to take up the cause of the Corporation at the highest level in the State.
CM Lotha, General Manager, gave a brief overview of the Corporation’s activities. He briefed the Chairman of the past and present activities of NIDC.
After the brief function, Thongwang Konyak along with officials of the Corporation proceeded to Ganeshnagar to inspect the Agro & Food Processing Special Economic Zone which is being developed by NIDC.
