Dimapur, April 23 (EMN): A five-member delegation from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) led by Justice D. Murugesan arrived at Dimapur airport in the afternoon today, April 23.
The other NHRC members in the team include JS Kochher, joint secretary of the NHRC; Chhaya Sharma, DIG of the NHRC; D Kammath, deputy registrar of the NHRC; and SK Rawal, private secretary of the NHRC.
The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, and other officials from the district administration received the team at the airport.
Justice D Murugesan will be the chief guest at the NHRC open-hearing on matter related to “atrocities and problems” faced by members of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe, in Kohima on the 24th of April, updates on Sunday stated. The event is to be held at the Administrative Training Institute in Kohima, it was informed.
After a brief stop at the police guest house in Chumukedima; the delegation proceeded to Kohima. The team will be leaving for Arunachal Pradesh on April 25.
