Dimapur, November 14: Nagaland Hotels and Restaurants’ Association (NHRA), in its executive meeting on November 11, expressed strong reservation and grievances against checking of hotels by some individuals in the name of NPG groups.
With the advent of festive season where tourists from outside have started visiting the State, NHRA felt that random checking by different groups affect the psychology of the visitors which in turn will have corresponding effect on the State economy.
While stating that it is trying its best to promote tourism in collaboration with different stakeholders, NHRA said such checking affects its sole purpose. It said tourism is the only viable industry which should be promoted by each and every individual in the State.
NHRA said it will not remain a silent spectator but may even go to the extent of closing down all hotel establishments as a sign of protest in future if any such checking takes place without any prior co-ordination with the lawful authority or Nagaland Hotel & Restaurant Association.
